加拿大代写In Support of “Global Citizenship”
The term “global citizenship” can be defined in different ways. In Kant’s opinion, global citizens must be the members living in the World Republic, and they have the rights of world citizens. His view shows the humanistic care for the wholly human welfare and emphasizes universal love for humanity. In the book of UN Declaration of Human Rights, it declares that human rights belong to all the human beings in the world in spite of the distinction of class, nation, race, gender, etc. Everyone has the equal right. In this paper, “global citizenship” means a worldview including the identity of the world citizens and their rights. The identity is placed in a global community beyond the geographic or political borders, and the rights are described in the scope of humanity. Human rights contain justice, democracy, peace, etc.
There are some conflicts about this worldview. Some support the view of “global citizenship” and while the others object this worldview. The supporters hold human morality, responsibilities and human rights should transcend the limitation of race and national boundaries, and the justice should be based on the respect for the whole humanity. However, some objectors hold it is Utopian; some hold it will damage the national unity and stability; others hold that it will intrude upon the regional cultural traditions.
I am in support of the worldview of global citizenship. The global citizenship advocates the care for the whole humanity. In fact, there are many global problems reflecting the lack of equal human rights nowadays, such as the lack of justice leading to the phenomenon of poverty. The film The End of Poverty provides the new insight of explaining the economic success in the world today and discloses that wealth and poverty have diverged and the poor nations are unable to escape the trap of poverty (Jeffrey D). Through telling the different problems that several poor countries are facing, the film shows the injustice between the poor and the rich. I think the reason of poverty is the injustice. The Spanish and Portuguese colonists abundantly use the colonial resources to construct their industrial base and control the market trade and rules to prevent the poor countries from ending poverty. The force of injustice will evoke the resistance of the poor and end poverty. From this film, we can see the injustice will disappear if all the people in the world can admit and respect other people’s rights. I agree with the view that our senses of morality and justice should be based on the respect of the whole humanity.
Peter Singer uses the term “speciesism” to connect it with racial discrimination and gender discrimination(Singer). He shows his view of humans controlling animals and advocates animal liberation in his book Animal Liberation. In fact, this is the injustice between humans and animals. In the worldview of global citizenship, humans should not have the privilege over animals and animals have the equal right of life with humans. Patrick Curry holds the view of moral pluralism and objects to the value of global citizenship. It can not be denied that there are various concrete moral models in different countries. However, I think there is a general principle as the origin of all other concrete moral principles. The general principle is the universal love and care for the whole humanity. Different moral principles can be blended by moral communication. More important, we are willing to communicate with others and show the respect for others.
Consequently, I quite support the value of “global citizenship” and want to be a global citizen.
